The CUT: Award-Winning Food Truck Opens First Brick and Mortar

The Cut Above the Rest

Attention food-truck fans of The Cut — this Orange County favorite is happily inhabiting its very own brick-and-mortar restaurant!

The Cut launched as a food truck in 2014, with a mission of creating burgers with meat that is all-natural, humane, and free-range, and using simple ingredients to let the flavors speak for themselves. Chef Andrés Dangond has created a straightforward menu of signature, handcrafted burgers, and with cooking experience all over the world, including in Michelin-starred establishments, it comes as no surprise his burgers are a cut above the rest.

After three years of building rapport with local food writers and building their brand as one of Orange County’s best burgers, The Cut was ready to take their concept to the next level.

Brisket Sandwich

Fear not! The Cut’s restaurant will feature all the guest’s favorites from the truck, including The Original Cut, which we previously covered here. With an Angus beef brisket patty, American cheese, pickles, and signature “Cut” sauce, the classic combination is taken to new heights.

Another of the truck’s fan favorites is The Savory Burger, making mouths water with bacon relish, Swiss cheese, aioli and 3000 Island sauce, which is The Cut’s twist on a traditional Thousand Island dressing. What’s more, The Cut restaurant will include new menu items that Chef Andrés will whip up, including honey Sriracha chicken wings, Serrano ham croquettes, smoked mac n’ cheese, and a selection of sweet desserts to top off the meal. A collection of local craft beers and wine, along with an exciting chef-driven cocktail menu will also be available.

The Cut Restaurant will be located in Irvine Westpark Plaza- a lively and family-friendly spot. With a movie theatre around the corner and plenty of shopping right next door, this is the perfect place for hungry guests to get their fix. Partner Steve Kim says of the location, “Irvine has a strong sense of community, which makes it an ideal area to open our first brick-and-mortar location that is geared to be a neighborhood restaurant.”


With a rustic and urban atmosphere, the restaurant is perfect for families grabbing a bite to eat, or even suitable for a casual business lunch. It has already had much success since its opening in July 2017, and with such great reception, future success is anticipated. The restaurant also includes a small patio area that allows for guests to soak in some sunshine and a bar area that is ideal for a quick refreshment, or catching up with a friend. This neighborhood-focused establishment is the perfect place for any gathering.

The Cut is currently open for lunch and dinner, with weekend brunch set to debut in late-summer.
