Take your vacation home with this pineapple cocktail recipe featuring Surf City Still Works rum.

For nearly five centuries the pineapple has been the emblem of hospitality. The centuries-old story goes that a pineapple hung at the entrance to a port town signaled to seafarers that the town was friendly and hospitable. Today, the pineapple is Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ brand logo, a logo seen at all 750 unique, independent hotels and resorts across the globe, including Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach.

In honor of the brand logo, participating Preferred Hotels & Resorts welcomes guests and local residents alike to enjoy a cocktail from the Preferred Pineapple Cocktail Series menu in celebration of International Pineapple Week.

Featured at the Balboa Bay Resort from now until the end of summer is California Love, a tropical cocktail that beckons you poolside with notes of banana, Thai spices and of course, pineapple. This cocktail spotlights Huntington Beach’s own Surf City Still Works rum. Enjoy making this recipe at home to keep your vacation vibes alive.

California Love

  • 1 ounce Surf City Still Works rum
  • 1 ounce Bacardi banana rum
  • 1 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 0.75 ounce pineapple gomme syrup
  • 2 dashes Thai spice bitters

Shake and double strain all ingredients. Serve in a coupe glass with dehydrated pineapple.
