1: Do the drawers fit into the standard dishwasher opening, should someone want to purchase them without a complete kitchen remodel?
Yes, the standard 24” tall double DishDrawer™ dishwasher fits right into the opening. There are other options available such as a single drawer, either 24” or 36”, or two drawers on either side of the sink.
2: Do the drawers need to run at the same time or are they independent of one another? And what is the time span for cleaning?
The drawers are separate units and can run one at a time or at the same time. One of the best features is that customers can use one drawer at a time for smaller loads. There are two cleaning time options, one is a Quick 30, and the other is just under an hour. New options include an extra dry cycle and a sanitation cycle.
3: The drawers are beautiful, but how well do they actually clean?
They have been put through over a million test cycles since its debut and deliver superior performance and reliability. Dishes and glasses do not need to be rinsed before loading, and the sanitation feature meets NSF/ANSI Standard 184, which means it can achieve a minimum 99.9% reduction of bacteria when operated on the sanitizing cycle. There is an extra dry cycle available which increases the temperature 32 degrees, specifically meant to dry baby bottles and other plastic items along with other kitchenware.
4: What can you tell me about the electricity and water usage?
The electricity is an Energy Star rating and the estimated yearly operating cost when used with an electric water heater ranges from 19 to 32 dollars. The water usage per wash is less than two gallons, which is less than it would take to clean a load of dishes by hand.
5: What are the color options and what is the interior made of?
Exterior color options are White, Black or EZKleen Stainless Steel. The interior liner is Polypropylene, which is the same material used by NASA. Each drawer is one complete unit that won’t leak or drip. It is made to fit into the standard dishwasher space in most kitchens.
6: What stores in the Orange County area carry Fisher & Paykel products?
Fisher & Paykel products are sold through a number of authorized retailers throughout Orange County such as Pacific Sales, Renwes, Pirch and Lowes. You can also view all of the products online on the Fisher & Paykel website, www.fisherpaykel.com/us.
7: What is the price range and does the company offer a warranty?
A 24” single drawer starts at 649 dollars, and the double set of drawers is about 1,299 dollars. The units come with a 3-year parts and labor warranty with online registration.
8: When will the newest model be available and what added features will it have?
Phase 9 will become available November 2017. New features include a higher temperature reaching 140 degrees, a halo light to show when the dishwasher is running, and the ability to pause the cycle at any time by gently knocking on the unit’s front panel two times (feature available on integrated products). The dishwasher is so quiet that the light lets users know when it’s running and the pause option allows users to add or remove dishes mid-wash.
9: In addition to the sleek lines and intuitive concept, is there something else that’s unique to the DishDrawer™ dishwasher?
The interior racks are not just adjustable, they are completely removable, so if you are having a party, you can take the dish racks out, fill the drawers with ice, and have a built-in ice chest to chill glasses, fill with wine bottles, beer cans, waters, sodas or just ice.
