What sets Beauty & Essex apart from the rest? You could start with its location, a prime spot in the heart of Los Angeles that’s both enticing and inviting. Upon entering, guests are introduced to the glamorous 10,000-square-foot space, which includes a pawnshop full of eclectic finds that you can actually purchase. The space itself, a grand multi-room area, is elegantly decorated in a way that is guaranteed to make interior design lovers swoon. beauty and Essex Los Angeles
Beyond the extravagance of the setup, are the unique offerings that their new Sunday menu provides. The bar offers original creations including the Cinnamon Toast Crunk, a sweet mix of almond milk, vanilla and Hennessey. For the savory drinker, the Bacon Bloody is a twist on the classic Bloody Mary, made with bacon-infused vodka. You can also opt for their take on a mimosa, which includes both blackberry and whiskey. beauty and Essex Los Angeles
What excited me most was how endless the options seemed. As someone who requires a combination of sweet and salty for pure satisfaction, I was delighted to see a multitude of options in both departments. I had a difficult time not ordering everything on the menu. beauty and Essex Los Angeles
I started with the ricotta fritters and was instantly transported back to the familiar comfort of Midwestern classics. The delicately fried bits are paired with a fresh raspberry jelly to bring you the perfect balance of richness and flavor. For a savory and healthier pick, I opted for the Brussels sprout salad. Crispy Brussels sprouts meshed eloquently with pepitas, pomegranate seeds, and grilled figs. Of course, I couldn’t end without trying another sweet favorite. I went with the red velvet waffles to close out the meal and wasn’t disappointed. The fluffy yet crisp cakes matched the ideal red velvet flavor that so many miss in an attempt. Drizzled with cream cheese icing, I was in a dessert lover’s brunch heaven. beauty and Essex Los Angeles
I’ve already added another visit to my to-do list, in hopes of trying the Sticky Buns and Short Rib Huevos Rancheros, if not the entire menu. I’m also hoping to snag a few items off the dessert menu (yes, brunch here has its own dessert options, too). Beauty & Essex succeeds in its stride towards being the top brunch spot in Los Angeles, and I have faith that it will easily become just that. The food and atmosphere alike are both undeniable in their success, making for a destination that will fit everyone in your squad’s wants. Make the reservation that will impress your friends with what is sure to become everyone’s newest Sunday favorite.
