SHARPEN YOUR SHUCKING SHEARS, ORANGE COUNTY’S 5TH ANNUAL CHAMPAGNE AND OYSTER SIP & SHUCK IS COMING NOV. 5TH TO THE PEARL OF LAGUNA BEACH.
Executive Chef Rainer Schwarz and his culinary team will serve a special menu from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., showcasing food from The Deck on Laguna Beach, Driftwood Kitchen and their newest concept, Hendrix, now open in Laguna Niguel.
Hand shucked oysters, champagne and an ocean view aren’t the only thing driving this event. The 5th annual Sip & Shuck shells out some of its proceeds to benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children Orange County. (CASA.)
The role of local CASA programs is to recruit, train and support volunteers in their work with abused children. According to CASA, “Nearly 700,000 children experience abuse or neglect each year. Instead of playing with neighbors and making happy family memories, they’re attending court hearings, adjusting to new foster homes and transitioning to new schools. That’s a heavy burden for a child to carry. With a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) or guardian ad litem (GAL) volunteer dedicated to their case, America’s most vulnerable children will have someone speaking up for their best interests. With your support, more children will have the opportunity to thrive in a safe and loving home.”
The event will include beverages from Casamigos Tequila, Laguna Beach Beer Company, Nolet’s, Veuve Clicquot, Bianchi Winery, Kendall Jackson, Tito’s Vodka, Reyka Vodka, Piper Sonoma, Cote de Roses, Nicholas Freuillate, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Milagro Tequila, Ketel One, Sailor Jerry, Lavazza Coffee, Volvic Water and many more.
“In the past four years, Sip & Shuck has become one of the most popular events in Laguna Beach. This year, we will once again benefit a local Orange County group, CASA, which is dedicated to helping children in need,” commented Director of Operations John Nye. “With expectations set high for this year’s event, we are going to focus on sourcing an incredible array of fresh oysters, pouring terrific champagnes, wines and spirits, and presenting lively entertainers, including the talented Addie Hamilton, who joins us again this year! As always, guests can look forward to a few surprises along the way.”
General admission tickets for the 21-and-over event are available for purchase for $95 pre-sale or $145 VIP early admission (of which 100% of the extra cash goes to help fund CASA’s mission.) Admission includes oysters and small bites, as well as access to champagne, wine, cocktail and beer sampling. Event attendees looking to enjoy the evening’s celebrations may take advantage of the Pacific Edge Hotel’s discount promotion.
See you there shuckers!
