Welcome to the Neighborhood: The Public House by Evans Brewing Co.
Evans Brewing Company, the oldest brewery in Orange County just opened up their first restaurant and tasting room named The Public House. Evans Brewing Co. is award winning so if you’re ever in Downtown Fullerton expect to be wowed. The Public House is located in the SOCO District of charming Downtown Fullerton.
The executive chef of this new hot spot is no other than Chef Amanda Platt who is a Le Cordon Bleu and California School of Culinary Arts alum. She is more than experienced in her art and has a history of impressing many with her delicious and unique dishes. She also lent her hand in two concept restaurants by the notable Kauffman Group.
The Public House offers a new and refreshing menu to the Downtown Fullerton food scene. Their signature dish is a Sweet Corn Skillet Hoe Cake, which includes bold ingredients like pepper, onion, applewood smoked bacon and honey butter. Their menu features delicious Fennel Sausage Flatbread, savory Fried Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich, a unique Wild Caught Salmon in creole sauce and a delicious vegetarian option —the Grilled Portobello Banh Mi Sandwich.
When you walk into this new hot spot, expect to be wowed by dark wood floors, exposed brick, and tasteful Southern California artwork. The Public House features inventive pub food made in their scratch kitchen that compliments their craft ales and lagers.
No surprise, their selection of beers is no less than award winning. Bar Manager Mariah Tatham also has handcrafted exceptional cocktails to make sure everyone has a delicious option to drink while they are at The Public House. They have taken a new take on old classics, like a brand new version of the Whiskey Sour made with Suntory Toki Japanese Whiskey, bitters, orgeat, almond butter and lemon. Another tasty drink they offer is their Chocolate Cordial, which features Luxardo Amaretto, Cherry Heering, Bulleit Bourbon and Nitro Chocolate.
In true Downtown Fullerton fashion, The Public House offers a great selection of live music, and five nights a week no less. Their music ranges from acoustic guitar, classic country, top 40 Rock, and occasionally a jazz artist. The vibe doesn’t get any better than at The Public House, it is a genuinely upbeat place to be and offers just the right amount of diversity so everyone can find something they love.
The Public House is run by father and son management team Mike and Evan Rapport. They hope to become an integral part of the Fullerton community and plan on helping local charities monthly.
